Hotel Argentina

Luxury Hotels
Hotel Argentina is the most recent addition to the complex Grand Villa Argentina and along with the Villa Argentina forms the main building of the complex. The hotel is built in harmony with nature and follows the sloping landscape down to the sea. This means that the hotel reception is at street level, or on the sixth floor, and every other floor except one is below. On the ground floor the lift is combined with a tunnel which takes you out to the outside pool and hotel beach.

The vast majority of the rooms have a view over the ancient Old City of Dubrovnik which is only a five minute stroll from the hotel.

Even though Hotel Argentina gives you the impression of being a modern hotel from its façade the interior is furnished in line with Villa Argentina so that every room is similar. Some regular guests prefer the Hotel Argentina more than the Villa Argentina while others delight in the older villa. It is impossible to say whether the Hotel Argentina is more luxurious than the rest of the complex as both more than satisfy the standards of a 5 star hotel and every part of the complex is special in its own way.

Perfect
2010-02-06

I cannot say enough about our stay at the Grand Villa Argentina. It was by far one of the more reasonably priced 5 star hotels in Dubrovnik, and I had read some less stellar reviews of the hotel. So, I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service and the accommodations. For starters, the Ploce neighborhood where the hotel is located is perfect. It is a short walk down hill (yes, up on the way back) to the Old Town. And it is beautiful!! We took a trip out to Lapad, and I was surprised to realize that the views from Ploce were far superior. The views from the hotel itself are even more amazing. From the Lobby, restaurants, pool deck, and veranda (breakfast) area on the fourth floor, you are treated to a stunning view of the sea, Lokrum Island, and the Old Town. I am still blown away just thinking about it.
And as if that were not enough, the service at the hotel and the hotel's restaurant and bar were incredible. Everyone was so helpful and went above and beyond to serve. For example, we were visiting for my mother's 50th birthday. While I had informed a restaurant (not at our hotel) of her birthday, I had not thought to tell the hotel. They figured it out anyway (I assume from the registration information), and we came back on her birthday to a bottle of wine with the Grand Villa Argentina logo, two wine glasses, a rose, and a very kind birthday letter.
I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay- from our relaxing, clean, cool room (despite the leaky bathtub- old plumbing), to the beautiful grounds and facilities, to the wonderful breakfast buffet, to the extra touch service (including the hotel's own taxi and a thoughtfully packed bagged breakfast for our very early departure to the airport our final day). Suffice it to say, our stay at the Grand Villa Argentina was perfect, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious experience in Dubrovnik.

Grand Villa's Only Redeeming Quality - It's Location
2010-02-06

Other than the Grand Villa's location being walking distance to old town Dubrovnik, the hotel has nothing else to offer - bad service, old, musty rooms that haven't been upgraded in decades, a pathetic "spa" and a tired, overpriced restaurant menu. >>> more
Excellent service and location

Although quite pricey this hotel is well worth considering. It has a brilliant location on the sea side within close proximity of the old city. >>> more
Mixed review

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the GVA in early September. The location was wonderful! Our balcony room in the hotel provided gorgeous views of Old Dubrovnik for evening drinks. >>> more
