Hotel Argentina

Luxury Hotels
Hotel Argentina is the most recent addition to the complex Grand Villa Argentina and along with the Villa Argentina forms the main building of the complex. The hotel is built in harmony with nature and follows the sloping landscape down to the sea. This means that the hotel reception is at street level, or on the sixth floor, and every other floor except one is below. On the ground floor the lift is combined with a tunnel which takes you out to the outside pool and hotel beach.

The vast majority of the rooms have a view over the ancient Old City of Dubrovnik which is only a five minute stroll from the hotel.

Even though Hotel Argentina gives you the impression of being a modern hotel from its façade the interior is furnished in line with Villa Argentina so that every room is similar. Some regular guests prefer the Hotel Argentina more than the Villa Argentina while others delight in the older villa. It is impossible to say whether the Hotel Argentina is more luxurious than the rest of the complex as both more than satisfy the standards of a 5 star hotel and every part of the complex is special in its own way.

Perfect Hotel & wedding venue
2010-02-06

I have just returned from Croatia from a very magical trip, where I got married in Dubrovnik. We stayed at the GVA with some friends and family during our stay in this spectactular town and I could not fault it. It is a first class hotel with beautiful amenities and grounds and the most amazing views of Dubrovnik.
The hotel has such a wonderful feel about it and is so peaceful. It was really was the best setting for such a special trip.
The hotel staff are all very friendly and accommodating and assisted with any queries or issues we had in a prompt and professional manner.
The rooms in the villa argentina and villa orsular with the sea view balconies are just amazing and although some of our friends stayed in the argentina hotel where the rooms without balconies are smaller, they are all immaculately clean and very well decorated.
The cleaners do a fantastic job and clean the rooms every morning spotlessly and then return in the evening to prepare the beds by removing the scatter pillows and throws and leave chocolates on the bedside tables, which is a lovely touch.
The breakfasts are delicious and it is so nice to wake up and have breakfast overlooking such beautiful scenery that you would just never tire of.
We got married in the old town but had our reception at the Villa Victoria restaurant and the sevice here was superb. The head waiter Dennis and his team, along with the chef made the whole evening go smoothly and were professional and helpful throughout. The food was absolutely wonderful and the views from the terrace made the whole evening so romantic. I would very much recommend this as a venue for anyone's wedding.
The only thing I would say is that the hotels hairdresser would not be recommended for wedding hair. I fortunately had a trial and was very disappointed as the hairdresser would only use hair bands rather than clips and seemed to lack any experience in doing wedding hair styles. I am sure she is good at the normal cutting etc but I think for wedding hair you need someone who has specialist experience in this area. In the end I didnt use the hotels hairdresser on the wedding day.
Every other aspect of the hotel was without fault and I have only just left but cannot wait to return already.

Grand Villa's Only Redeeming Quality - It's Location
2010-02-06

Other than the Grand Villa's location being walking distance to old town Dubrovnik, the hotel has nothing else to offer - bad service, old, musty rooms that haven't been upgraded in decades, a pathetic "spa" and a tired, overpriced restaurant menu. >>> more
Excellent service and location

Although quite pricey this hotel is well worth considering. It has a brilliant location on the sea side within close proximity of the old city. >>> more
Mixed review

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the GVA in early September. The location was wonderful! Our balcony room in the hotel provided gorgeous views of Old Dubrovnik for evening drinks. >>> more
