Good Quality Hotel but needs some improvements
2010-02-06

We travelled to the Radisson Dubrovnik for the last week of September as part of a small tour group. We chose the hotel due to a combination of a good rate and the hotel website which promised high quality facilities.

The facilities were generally as promised. The hotel is newly opened and everything had a brand new feel about it. As mentioned by others, a more comprehensive hotel brochure and map of the facilities would have been helpful as well as information on what was and wasn't open. The hotel operates to winter and summer schedules which is understandable but walking through a darkened complex at night with so few guests and apartments empty gave the place an abandoned feeling. This wasnt helped by the limited numbers in the main bar.

Having read the reviews we were prepared to find a hotel still struggling with service issues however our experience was generally good. Possibly due to the time of year the hotel was not at its busiest and therefore we never encountered the problems mentioned in previous reviews with the exception of the final bill which included a mini bar tab which we hadn't run up. However this was removed without quibble. In addition the restaurant several times did not have our choice of wine offering us in every case a much more expensive alternative.

The staff were generally friendly and efficient and all requests were acted upon quickly. The standard of food for breakfast and dinner (we were there on a half board option) was very good and the hotel made an effort to vary the cuisine from day to day

The rooms were pretty much what you would expect for a hotel of this standard although the tea/coffee/milk should have been renewed each day which we found wasnt done regularly.

The location of the hotel is located some distance from Dubrovnik (about 20Km) but the shuttle bus service was efficient and did run on time as far as we could see. One day there was more people travelling than the bus could cope with and a second bus was organised within minutes.

Overall the experience was pleasant and the hotel does fulfill its potential.

Big problems with access to Dubrovnik, seaviews, food and practical room facilities
2010-02-06

A poor experience and not a credit to the Radisson name. Location and access to Dubrovnik a real problem, plus issues over seaviews, poor food (poor vegetables, and hopeless for vegetarians, gluten-free and other special diets), and practical room facilities. To start with the few positives. The staff are very pleasant but so are nearly all Croatians, so that doesnt distinguish the hotel. The rooms are large, clean and modern, but have lots of practical problems see below. But there are some real problems which we didnt believe were teething problems. >>> more
BEWARE OF THE WINE AT THE RADISSON BLU RESORT DUBROVNIK
2010-02-06

Beware of the wine at the Radisson Blu Resort Dubrovnik. The weeks holiday we booked with Citiescapes included half board at the Radisson. We dined each night in the Hotels main restaurant The Origano. The food was fine but the wine is another story. >>> more
Beautiful hotel and grounds
2010-02-06

We went in mid-September and really enjoyed our stay. There were still some bumps, hopefully that will improve with time. Although the weather was still warm and sunny, it appeared to already be low-season when we went. >>> more
