Hotel Lero

Three Star Hotels
Hotel Lero is situated just 1200 meters from the centre of the Old City of Dubrovnik, which makes it the only hotel in close vicinity of the centre that isn’t a five star hotel. The closest beach is 300 meters from Hotel Lero and a very convenient bus service makes the whole of Dubrovnik within easy reach. Hotel Lero has a total of 160 double rooms of which 80 have stunning seas view whilst the remaining rooms have views out over a park. In 100 of the rooms there is the possibility to place an additional bed for a third guest. All rooms are fully air-conditioned, have satellite TV, mini-bar and bathroom with shower.

Hotel Lero also has 8 family apartments which are made up of two connected double rooms with a joint bathroom. Apart from the main hotel restaurant there is also an aperitif bar with a lovely terrace surrounded by palm trees and an a la carte restaurant, Taverna Nava, which is famous for its excellent local and international cuisines as well as seafood specialities and, of course, its wide choice of wines. Apart from beginning a great destination for holiday makers Hotel Lero also has all facilities for those looking to organise seminars and conferences.

There are in fact three, fully air-conditioned congress halls in the hotel. The largest has a capacity for up to 70 participants and the two smaller can hold 30 and 15 respectively. There is also the possibility to join the halls which makes a larger congress hall for 100 participants with seating “cinema” style. Hotel Lero is open throughout the whole year and is a great choice for those after a hotel relatively close to the centre without having to pay the cost of a five star hotel.

Standard 3* Hotel - Would Stop Here Again . . . .

First of all this hotel does not win any awards for style - it is a typical, former Yugoslavian, functional 3* hotel. It is well located being halfway between Lapad (where most of the other hotels are) and the old City area of Dubrovnik and on a main bus route.

The room was clean and plenty large enough for our three night stay. The bathroom was more than adequate as was the hanging space for clothes. The room had a large TV with various channels available (inc English, German and Spanish languages)

The breakfast was of the normal european buffet fare of breads, cereal, meats and cheese with tea/coffee and juices available as well. The hotel bar was not overly cosy - but functional, although the outdoor seating (adjacent to the road) seemed to have more character.

Service was prompt, efficient and pleasant at all times. Whilst the hotel boasts guest car parking, this is prbably for no more than 15 cars - although plenty of on street parking was available outside the hotel.

The walk from the hotel to the old City took about 15 minutes (and it is downhill) but as the the bus (No 4)from Pile Gate back to the hotel run at regular intervals (between two and four services per hour) and cost the 10 Kuna (approx L1 GBP) this made for an easy return journey.

It you want 5* luxury then you would probably choose either the Hilton Imperial or the Excelsior, both are closer to the old City - but you will probably pay twice or three times as much.

With the Hotel Lero you get good, clean accomodation in a good location - when I am back in Dubrovnik I would have no hesitation in staying at the Hotel Lero again.

Average hotel, bad food

Hotel Lero can be a nice choice for Dubrovnik but rooms prices are a bit high for what it offers. My room wasnt very specious and looking at the backside of the hotel so there was no view, but it was clean enough. Mini bar was full. >>> more
Great stay

My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice on our recent honeymoon. The staff were very helpful and looked after our suitcases while we were on our cruise. >>> more
Clean hotel with reasonable price

Hotel Lero is one of the few real hotels that are walkable to the Dubrovnik old town. It's located on one of the main roads in the city. >>> more
