Three Star Hotels
Hotel Komodor is situated in Lapad an elite suburb of Dubrovnik, surrounded by numerous beaches, sport centres, restaurants and cafés. In the vicinity of Hotel Komodor you will find the ideal spot for an enjoyable afternoon coffee or tea as well as an evening night out. Hotel Komodor is one of the oldest hotels in Lapad and is a typical example of Dubrovnik architecture at the beginning of the 20th century.

The hotel has recently been renovated and offers its guests all the services required for a comfortable holiday and a relaxing break. The hotel’s restaurant has its own terrace in the shade of Mediterranean flora, as well as an outside swimming pool and aperitif bar.

If you are organising a seminar or meeting the hotel has a small conference hall for groups of up to 30 people. In the close vicinity of Hotel Komodor is a well equipped fitness club and wellness centre which is ideal for complete relaxation and unwinding.

The Old City of Dubrovnik is around 4 kilometres from the hotel and the bus service connection is excellent. For those who prefer to walk the Old City it takes around 30 – 40 minutes of gentle walking. Hotel Komodor has 63 fully air-conditioned rooms which offer guests comfortable surroundings which in connection with the professionalism of the staff guarantee a pleasant holiday. The Hotel Komodor was awarded the ISO 22000:2005 certificate and is proof of the professionalism and level of service.

great hotel

Stayed in the Hotel Komodor for two weeks during July and August 2007 with my wife and 7 year old daughter. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed with free air conditioning.
The Hotel had a smallish pool that was ideal for our 7 year old. It was kept clean and in good order.
The hotel staff were efficient and courteous at all times and friendly too.
The restuarant food was of a good standard and had a reasonable choice of menus at uk comparable prices.
We were within a short 5 minute walk from the local beach and shopping facilities and a 20 minute bus ride from Dubrovnik old town.
The views across the sea were spectacular particularly at sunset.
The only fly in the ointment was the state of emergency issued during our stay when the local hill tops caught fire and air raid sirens were sounded to warn local residents. There was no clear indication given by the hotel staff as to what we had to do. They did their best to reassure us and made it clear that they would contact all guests if evacuation was to take place. Mildly disturbing, but as we had watched the situation unfold on the local tv we realised that we would not be in any immediate danger. If anything it was a rather exciting time watching sea planes scooping water up to dump on the fires for three solid days.
This did not affect the hotels level of service regardless of the fact that many of the staff's homes and families could well have been in danger.
I would reccommend the Hotel Komodor to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful area around Dubrovnik. I would say however that the area is not particularly suited to family groups as there is little to occupy young children. If you like history, culture the arts or good food, then this is a place well worth visiting.
