Hotel Dubrovnik Palace

Luxury Hotels
Hotel Dubrovnik Palace has an enviable position on the peninsular of Lapad just 4.5 kilometres from the walls of the Old City of Dubrovnik. Its unique cascading architecture offers all 308 rooms and apartments on ten floors spectacular views of the sea from private balconies.

Every room has a flat screen TV, wireless Internet connection, en-suite bathroom with massage shower, Gharani Strok bath gel, mini-bar, air conditioning, safe and pay TV with the latest films. Along with the hotel’s beach and three outside pools guests also have at their disposal an indoor pool, fitness club, tennis court and a spa and beauty centre. During their stay guests can enjoy a drink at one of the four bars, dance the night away in “Orlandinjo” night club or taste the fine cuisines from one of the four restaurants. Apart from the Elafiti restaurant, there is the fine dining restaurant Lenga, the tavern Maslina and the exclusive sushi bar Satu.

The conference facilities of the hotel are second to none and include; nine rooms for meeting for 30 to 1000 participants, salons with terraces and views over the nearby Elaphite islands, modern business centre and various locations ideal for cocktails and entertainment.

Hotel Dubrovnik Palace is situated at the foot of the Petka hill and there are numerous walks available through the forested countryside. The historic Old City of Dubrovnik is only a five minute taxi ride away or a ten minute journey on one of the local buses. Comfort and style, a crystal clear sea and views over local islands are reasons enough to choose this extra special hotel.

Good, not luxorius

While part of Adriatic Luxury Hotels I would not dare to call it "luxurious". Compared to other Croatian hotels it is very solid, but still you would expect a bit more from European 5-star hotel, even considering quite inexpensive accommodation.
Our experience started on quite bad note: traveling with a small baby (3 month at time of visit) we specifically asked airport-hotel transfer car (provided by same group, Adriatic Luxury Services, 45 EUR one way) to be equipped with a baby seat, request was confirmed multiple times. Yet arriving to Dubrovnik and going to a car we observed that no baby seat was equipped. We spent half an hour trying to get a seat, but to no avail. Had to drive to hotel with baby sitting on our laps.
When arrived to hotel had a long discussion with a receptionist about that accident, we refused to pay for service provided (lacking a baby seat). Finally met a hotel manager, who was much friendlier, at the end we settled at not paying for transfer either way (to/from airport). In general, staff seemed to be under-qualified, as seemingly simple question such as "do you have salt water pool?" required 5 minutes and multiple phone calls which resulted in "I don't know". Expect to hear that "I don't know" quite often during your stay.Hotel itself is very nicely built on hillside. Beautiful view from room balcony (do ask for floor 6 and up), tidy and bright room. Loccitane toiletries were also a nice touch. House keeping service was very good compared to other hotel staff, room was always cleaned promptly.
While lacking a "beach" per se, hotel offers a ladder to a sea and handful of deck-chairs scattered along the shore (could be a problem to find an empty one during rush hours). There were no waves and sea was quite warm, so we had few very nice swims.
Hotel offers a free morning/evening shuttle to Dubrovnik (public transportation also available). Eating in Dubrovnik is highly recommended, as hotels food was mediocre at best and quite overpriced - in restaurants as well as in-room dining.
So If you don't mind possible glitches during your stay, this is hotel might be reasonable choice.

Perfect setting on the shores of the Adriatic

he location of the hotel is superb, and the views over the Adriatic at sunset are spectacular. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, the staff were charming, efficient and extremely helpful. >>> more
Beautiful location, great hotel, but isolated and seem to overbook

Stayed for 5 nights, had no serious complaints with the service or the hotel. The hotel is right on the sea with every room facing the water. However, about 1/4 of the rooms have view blocked by pine trees. Fortunately, ours wasn't. The standard rooms are quite small, not much larger than the bed; if you care about room size, upgrading to a superior or suite is a must. >>> more
Has a computer room, with 4 computers free for use.

The only real complaint about this hotel is that there is pretty much nothing nearby. No stores, no restaurant, no sand beach. [There is a nice beach and shopping areas down Masarykov road, about 15-20 minute walk away, but it gets quite crowded.] For dinner, you either eat at the hotel, or need to take a bus/taxi/shuttle to the Old Town. >>> more
